Shahzada TV | Sports Desk | Seeing the team entangled in bad conditions, BCB appointed Shakib Al Hasan as the Captain and seasoned Sridharan Sriram as the technical consultant so that the team can perform well in Asia Cup 2022. However, Shakib says that nothing can happen within a few days as the event is at the right corner.
Shakib Al Hasan is the new captain of Bangladesh in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. He has been given such responsibility as the T20 World Cup 2022 is nearing and no one else in the team possesses as much excellence as he does.
However, the skipper has something different and contradictory to say. He claimed that it is next to impossible that the team can recover that much within a very short span of time. Since the team is loaded with many flaws, it is not humanly possible to expect good performance from the team.
Apart from appointing Shakib, BCB has also adventured to ameliorate the performance of the team by appointing Sridharan Sriram. Sriram will serve as a technical director for the team in order to help them to perform well in Asia Cup and Tri-series which will be played among the teams of New Zealand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Appointing Sriram might be an efficient decision by BCB as has worked with Australia and Chennai Super Kings in IPL. The Board has also intended to introduce split coaching in the next Asia Cup. With this decision being operational, Domingo’s coaching of the team in all 3 formats will come to an end.
BCB is very frustrated with the poor techniques of Domingo in T20Is and also wants to hold talks with him regarding that. In his tenure, Bangladesh has lost 27 T20 matches out of 46. Another astonishing fact is that after the T20 World Cup Bangladesh has won only 2 matches so far. Shakib also denied the myth that something magical can happen for the team with these new steps. Instead, according to Shakib, patience, and focus on the game can be helpful for exceptional performance. He further warned that only our performance in the World Cup followed by the Asia Cup would decide where we stand as a team.
