Shahzada TV | Sports News | Ghazanfar Ali, the former captain of the Pakistan hockey team and former Olympian has joined the Men and women hockey team of Ghana as head coach.
Ghazanfar Ali has signed the contract to lead as a head coach with men and women’s hockey teams of Ghana till the Birmingham Commonwealth Games which will commence from 28 July to 8 August 2022.
Ghazanfar Ali is a Manchester-based professional Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) high performance coach. Ghazanfar told that he will leave for Ghana on Monday and he is passionate to lead the men and women teams of Ghana to be capable to compete and perform well in the XXII commonwealth games for their country.
He added that:
“I will try my best to improve the structure and performance of both teams in commonwealth games”,
Currently, Ghana’s hockey team (men) is ranked 36 in the official ranking list of FIH. Whereas, the women’s team is ranked in 30th position. It will be interesting to see if Ghazanfar Ali is able that he can lead the team into some capable positions.
