Shahzada TV | Sports Desk | Samiullah Shinwari, a well-known Afghanistan hard hitter middle order batter, has returned to the team of Afghanistan in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 held in UAE and hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Board.
Samiullah was not part of the team for the last two years. However, being inspired by his recent performance in Shpageeza League, the board decided to include him in the squad. The squad consisting of 17 members is all set to perform in Asia Cup starting on 27th August.
It was March 2020 when Samiullah Shinwari played for the team against Ireland. After that series, he remained absent from the team for quite a long time and got a chance to perform again. Though he didn’t play for the team, his participation in Shpageeza Leagues has attracted the attention of the board.
Prior to Shinwari’s selection, Sharafudin was announced to be on the list of reserve players. However, the board has set Sharafuddin aside and has introduced Shinwari in his place. Apart from Shinwari, another player Noor Ahmad has also been added to the squad. Noor was replaced by Mujeeb Rehman in the series against Ireland.
